He Died For You

An article in National Geographic several years ago recorded this heart-warming incident. After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up the mountain to assess the damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes at the base of a tree. He knocked it over with a stick. When he stuck it, three tiny chicks run from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings. When the blaze arrived and the heat scorched her small body, the mother had remained steadfast. She could have flown to safety but she never did because she had been willing to die that her offspring would live.

Friend, at Calvary's cross 2000 years ago we see Jesus, who had been willing to die that you and I might live. He could have loosened the nails in his hands and feet and come down from the cross He could have called ten thousand angels to set him free. He could have flown back to heaven to escape such painful death. But he chose to die that you might live. He chose to suffer that your sins be forgiven . He chose to live on earth that you might live in heaven. God loves you so much my friend. Give your heart to Jesus. He gave His all for you. Live for Him. He died for you. Accept Him as your Savior. He took your place on the cross.
