When I was a young boy I never missed a Detroit Tiger baseball game that was broadcast on TV. As I got older, that became impossible as other obligations in life began to take precedence.
However, setting up a DVR at my house has now made it possible to see every pitch once again. All I have to do is remember to schedule a recording before game time of that particular day. Satellite TV from direct.tv allows me to search programming by specific sport and team, making it very easy to find Tiger baseball games.
Later that night I can sit down and still enjoy the entire match up. In fact I can rewind great plays or fast-forward through long stops in the on-field action. If I need to leave the room momentarily, a game can be paused until I get back to my comfortable seat on the couch.
Being able to record games on a DVR also gives me the option of keeping some of the most memorable ones to watch again. For example, last year's near perfect game by Tiger pitcher Armando Galarraga was certainly a classic worth keeping. Of course I am saving DVR space now so I have it when the Tigers play in this year's playoffs and World Series.
