We can learn valuable lessons from the nature that God has created around and above us. We can learn how to handle temptations from the life of a lobster.

At certain times of its life, the lobster loses it protective shell. During that period of molting, even the bravest lobster hides away in a crevice in a rock. He waits there patiently for his new shell to grow. As soon as it is hard enough, he will come out and fight with anybody.

Friends, it is always wiser to run away than to stay. If certain people always makes you angry, avoid them. If some place makes you sin, avoid it. It is always a wise choice to run from temptation than to be caught in it. As it is said, "It is better to run from the bait than to struggle in it."

Jesus made a sacrifice for you. Are you willing to make sacrifices for Him? Can you honestly say that you’re passionate about your faith and that you’re really following Jesus? Hopefully so. But if you’re preoccupied with other things or if you’re strictly a one day a week Christian then, it’s time to reorder your priorities.

Nothing is more important than your wholehearted commitment to your Creator and to His only begotten Son. Your faith must never be an afterthought; it must be your ultimate priority, your ultimate possession, and your ultimate passion.

You are the recipient of Christ’s love. Accept it willingly and share it passionately. Jesus deserves your extreme enthusiasm; the world deserves it; and you deserve the experience of sharing it.

Whatever our circumstances, whether we stand atop the highest mountain or wander through the darkest valley, God is ready to protect us, to comfort us and to heal us. Our task is to let Him.

Food For Thought Of The Day

Sometimes, even for the most dedicated Christian men, family life holds moments of frustration and disappointment. The words of 1Timothy 5:8 are unambiguous: If God has blessed us with families, then He expects us the care for them. Sometimes, this profound responsibility seems daunting. But, for those who are lucky enough to live in the presence of a close-knit, caring clan, the rewards far outweigh the demands.

No Family is perfect, and neither is yours. Despite the inevitable challenges of providing for your family, and despite the occasional hurt feelings of family life, your clan is God’s gift to you. Give thanks to the Giver for the gift of family...and act accordingly.

Some teach that we earn God's favor by what we know (intellectualism). Others insist we are saved by what we do (moralism). Still others claim that salvation is determined by what we feel (emotionalism).
However you package it, Paul contests,...salvation comes through the cross---no additions, no alterations.

Food For Thought

“Peace, peace to you, and peace to your helpers! For your God helps you.” ~ 1 Chronicles 12:18 NKJV

Sometime, our financial struggles are simply manifestations of the inner conflict that we feel when we stray from God’s path. The beautiful words of John 14:27 remind us that Jesus offers us peace, not as the world gives, but as He alone gives. Our challenge is to accept Christ’s peace into our hearts and then, to share it with our families and friends.

When we summon the courage and the determination to implement a sensible financial plan, we invite peace into our lives. But, we should never confuse earthly peace with a spiritual Peace.

When we accept Jesus as our personal Savior, we are transformed by His grace. We are then free to accept the spiritual abundance and peace that can be ours through the power of the risen Christ.

Financial peace can, and should, be yours. But the spiritual peace that stems from your personal relationship with Jesus must be yours if you are to receive the eternal abundance of our Lord. Claim that abundance today.

Food for thought

As Christians whose salvation has been purchased by the blood of Christ, we have every reason to live joyously and courageously. After all, Christ has already fought and won our battle for us. He did so on the cross at Calvary. But despite Christ’s sacrifice, and despite God’s promises, we may become confused or disoriented by the endless complications and countless distractions of our daily lives.

If you’re unsure of your next step, lean upon God’s promises and lift your prayers to Him. Remember that God is your protector. Open yourself to His heart, and trust Him to guide you. When you do, God will direct your steps, and you will receive His blessings today, tomorrow, and throughout eternity.
