From time to time, all of us face life altering disappointments that leave us breathless. Oftentimes, these disappointments come unexpectedly, leaving us with more questions than answers or, for that matter, even when we don’t seem to have any of the answers- God does. Whatever our circumstances, whether we stand atop the highest mountain or wander through the darkest valley, God is ready to protect us, to comfort us and to heal us. Our task is to let Him.

The words of 1Timothy 5:8 are unambiguous: If God has blessed us with families, then He expects us the care for them. Sometimes, this profound responsibility seems daunting. But, for those who are lucky enough to live in the presence of a close-knit, caring clan, the rewards far outweigh the demands.

No Family is perfect, and neither is yours. Despite the inevitable challenges of providing for your family, and despite the occasional hurt feelings of family life, your clan is God’s gift to you. Give thanks to the Giver for the gift of family...and act accordingly.
